  • Development of design guidelines for user interfaces on mobile devices optimized for digital immigrants (Bachelor Thesis Business Information Systems, 2015) Details

In the last decade, mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets have steadily gained popularity and have become omnipresent not only in personal life but also in business environment. Nevertheless, although these devices are advertised as very user-friendly, some people still face problems using them. To explain this, several authors refer to a generational divide between those who grew up with new media (“digital natives”) and those that got to learn it not until adult age (“digital immigrants”). It is assumed that this is why digital immigrants have more difficulties using new technology properly.
This bachelor thesis will at first examine these generational differences in media usage and then give an overview of current design guidelines for human-computer interaction. On this basis, design guidelines for mobile devices specifically for digital immigrants will be developed.

    diesem Thema erarbeiten.
