Within the PEKMAN project, we will analyze the potential of knowledge management in public organisations. The project is a cooperation with the LSV ("Landesbetrieb für Straßen und Verkehr Rheinland-Pfalz"), a public enterprise that is in charge of planning, building and maintaining all public roads and other traffic routes in the Rhineland Palatinate. In this project, we will emphasize a research method that one could term "research through development", a concept that is similar to action research.

Objective

The project is aimed at the design and prototypical introduction of a knowledge management system. This includes, among other things, the development of a conceptual foundation for document management and online collaboration as well as the design of a corporate "knowledge map".
